Weekly Wrap Up

Dear Families,

What a wonderful week we’ve had at Brighton! This week has been all about coming together, strengthening our sense of community, and celebrating our shared values of Respect, Empathy, Inclusivity and Excellence. A highlight of the week was the Reconciliation Breakfast and Assembly.

We were delighted to welcome our 40 new mid-year Foundation children to the Buzzy Bees transition program. These children are beginning their journey from preschool to school, and it was wonderful to see them connect with their new classmates and teachers, building confidence and excitement about beginning their formal schooling at Brighton.

Thank you to our entire community, students, staff, and families, for contributing to this week of belonging and connection.

Thank you to our staff, families, and students for making this week so special.

Enjoy the weekend.

Warm Regards, Rebecca

Reconciliation Week

On Monday, our school came together to celebrate Reconciliation Week with a special breakfast and an assembly.

We started the morning by sharing a delicious breakfast with our school community. It was a lovely way to connect and reflect on the importance of this week. A big shout to Mandy, Uncle Tamura and Jane for preparing a yummy breakfast.

At our assembly, we were honoured to have Uncle Tamaru deliver a Welcome to Country and a smoking ceremony. Michael wowed us with his incredible Yidaki performance, creating a truly special atmosphere.

Vanessa’s class proudly led the Acknowledgment of Country in Kaurna language – a meaningful moment that reminded us of the deep connection between land, language and culture.

Some Foundation and Year 5 students shared their learning about Aboriginal culture through amazing artwork, showing respect, creativity and understanding.

It was a memorable celebration, and a reminder of the importance of walking together towards reconciliation.

Book Fair Update

We have had the annual Book Fair this week at Brighton Primary School. We have reached an unbelievable $5000 in sales so far !!

What an amazing effort, a big thank you to all that have visited the Library before or after school and contributed to the amount.

Happy reading !
