This term the Year 2 classes

The children have looked  at portraits of abstract style and made some with unusual materials. The artists we have studied have included  Arcimboldo , Miro and Picasso. Activities have included creating abstract portraits with plasticine, coloured wool on plastic and using oil pastels to create their own self portraits in an abstract style. The children also looked closely at the eye and the patterns within.

Drama took us on adventures into unknown worlds .The drama activities lead students through a ‘story building’ process to create a collaborative narrative using role-play activities. The children  packed  an imaginary bag and explored what is out there in a magical world. The children recorded what they saw in the unknown worlds and  magical settings through painting and drawings.
